Nearly 5 million people in the United States are without at least one essential household item, highlighting the worsening poverty crisis. To combat this, nonprofit organizations such as Project Home Furnishings DFW are making boots on the ground efforts to supply families in need with furniture.
A Hands On Nonprofit
Project Home Furnishings DFW is a nonprofit organization striving to improve quality of life for individuals and families in need through providing essential home furnishings. Operated by a small, devoted team, Project Home operates under a hands-on approach: personally picking up and then delivering furniture to those transitioning into stable housing or facing financial hardship. Their work is fundamentally driven by compassion, community, and the belief that everyone deserves a comfortable, dignified living space.
Their Story & Mission
Founded on the principle of serving others with love and empathy, Project Home Furnishings was created to address a critical yet often overlooked need: essential home furnishings.
Whether someone is overcoming homelessness, fleeing domestic violence, or recovering from natural disasters, Project Home Furnishing provides essential household items to help transform empty spaces into warm, welcoming homes.

Their Philosophy
Through their extensive work in the DFW community, it is clear that Project Home Furnishings’ philosophy is rooted in kindness, dignity, and compassion. They believe small acts of generosity can create ripples of positive change.
Who they Serve
Project Home Furnishings primarily serves individuals and families in the DFW area who are in poverty. Many of their clients are referred through United Way. Their recipients range from single parents trying to rebuild their lives to families with young children in need of basic comforts. Each story is unique, and they approach every delivery with compassion and respect for each person’s journey.
Their Service
Furniture pickup and delivery is the core of Project Home. Whether it’s a bed for a child or a dining table for a family, they ensure every item finds a home where it will be cherished.
The Team
Their founder is Melissa, and their core volunteer team is made up of Charles, Alicia, Esther, Kaylynn, and Jace, whose hard work ensures the deliveries happen smoothly. Recently, they have gotten referrals from United Way, in addition to The Hills Keller and Fort Worth Christian (FWC).
In addition, they provided gifts for Christmas to 78 families! More than half of them were sponsored by The Hills and FWC.
